When I was a child, I spoke as a child; I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a woman, I put away childish things. I speak with the tongues of people and have not charity, becoming a tinkling cymbal. I have the gift of prophecy, and understands all the mysteries, knowledge; also faith so that I could do anything and have not charity, I am nothing. I give my goods to feed the poor and my body to be burned, have not charity and profited nothing. Charity suffered long; charity doesn’t envy anything; charity didn’t vaunt me. Don’t behave it unseemly; don’t seek on my own, not easily provoked, doesn’t think any evil. Rejoices the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things and endures all things. Charity never fails, but, if ever there are prophecies, they shall fail.
